Scout & Swoop Dog Waste Removal |
Welcome, and thank you for choosing Scout & Swoop! These terms explain how our service works, what we’re responsible for, and what we ask of you. By starting or continuing service, you agree to the terms below.
- Scope of Service
Our service covers the removal of dog waste from your designated yard or cleanup area. To set clear expectations, here’s what is and isn’t included:
What’s Included
- Removal of solid dog waste from accessible areas of your yard (grass, garden beds, mulch beds etc.)
- We’ll do our best to remove diarrhea or loose waste when conditions allow, though it cannot always be fully collected.
What’s Not Included
- Waste from any animal other than dogs, including cats, geese, or wildlife (for example, goose droppings).
- Yard debris, trash, or any non-pet waste.
- Client Responsibilities
As the client, you are responsible for maintaining safe access into and out of the yard. If we are unable to complete a cleanup due to lack of access, the scheduled visit will still be charged.
You are also responsible for maintaining your cleanup area. Overgrown grass, weeds, heavy leaf cover, or fresh snowfall may occasionally result in missed waste. Any missed waste will be collected during your next scheduled service visit.
For everyone’s safety, dangerous or aggressive dogs must be kept inside the home during scheduled cleanings.
Please notify us promptly of any change in the number of pets, and keep any balance on your account paid up to date.
After each visit, all dog waste is securely double-bagged and placed in your trash bins. Please make sure your bins are accessible, or let us know a secondary spot where waste can be placed — such as next to the garage or the side of the house.
- Weather Policy
We’re out in rain, snow, or shine. The only time we’ll reschedule or push your visit back is when conditions make it unsafe for our team to be out working. These situations may include:
- Thunderstorms or lightning
- Wildfire smoke or poor air quality
- Heavy snowstorms, or a large amount of snowfall within 24 hours of your scheduled service day (see plan-specific guidelines below)
- Other hazardous weather conditions
When any of these occur, we’ll adjust your schedule and return as soon as it’s safe to do so. If weather affects your scheduled visit, we’ll let you know and confirm your next service day.
During the winter months in particular, snowfall can occasionally make yards unsafe or inaccessible for service. Whenever possible, our team will still attempt to complete service even with light snowfall (for example, 2–3 inches). When conditions prevent safe access to the yard, we may adjust scheduling until it is safe to return.
Our goal is always to return as quickly as possible while ensuring every yard receives a thorough cleanup once conditions improve. Service adjustments may occur as follows, depending on your service plan:
Twice-Weekly Service
If snowfall or winter conditions prevent safe access to your yard, we will perform double duty at your next scheduled visit to collect as much waste as possible from the yard. (“Double duty” means performing a normal cleanup with twice the amount of expected waste.)
Weekly Service
If 6 inches or more of snow falls overnight, your visit may be postponed until the following week. At that time we will perform double duty to bring everything back up to standard.
Bi-Weekly Service
If snowfall or winter conditions prevent safe access to your yard, your visit may be shifted to the following week to maintain your regular service rotation. A full cleanup will be completed at that time.
Please note that waste covered by snow may not be visible during service and may only become accessible once the snow melts. If this occurs, it will be collected during your next scheduled visit.
Because we always make up the work on your next visit, weather-related adjustments are not credited or refunded.
We appreciate your understanding during winter weather events. Our priority is to provide consistent, professional service while keeping our team safe and ensuring every yard receives the highest-quality cleanup possible.
- Holidays
We observe the following major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. If your scheduled cleanup falls on one of these holidays, we may move your service up one day or back one day that week, depending on where the holiday lands. We’ll always let you know of any change to your service day.
Year-End Closure (Christmas – New Year’s)
As a thank you to our team, Scout & Swoop is closed from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day each year, reopening January 2. If one of your visits falls during this week, we’ll catch it up at your next scheduled visit by performing double duty to bring your yard back to standard. Because this brief closure is already accounted for in your flat monthly rate, your billing stays the same and no credit is issued.
- How Billing Works
On the 1st of each month, we charge your full monthly price. This covers all your visits for the month, whether you’re on twice-weekly, weekly, or bi-weekly service. Your payment holds your regular spot on our route so we can keep your yard on schedule.
How Your Price Is Determined
Your monthly price is based on three things: the size of your yard, your service frequency (twice-weekly, weekly, or bi-weekly), and the number of dogs. If any of these change — for example, you add a dog — your rate may be adjusted to match.
Payment Authorization
By keeping a card on file, you authorize Scout & Swoop to automatically charge it on the 1st of each month for your monthly service. Service continues on a month-to-month basis and renews automatically until you cancel.
Because we plan our routes ahead of time, each visit is tied to its scheduled date and doesn’t carry over to the next month. In plain terms:
- You can’t save up visits or move them to a later month.
- Skipped or missed visits aren’t refunded or credited — except for the quarterly skip described below.
- Your spot is reserved whether or not you use every visit.
Need to Skip a Visit?
Life happens. If you’ll be away, just let us know at least 48 hours before the new month starts. Once the month has already begun, we can’t credit that visit — your spot and route are set.
Your Quarterly Skip (Once Every 3 Months)
As a thank you for being a customer, you can skip one visit each quarter (Jan–Mar, Apr–Jun, Jul–Sep, Oct–Dec) at no charge. Here’s how it works:
- Let us know the month before the visit you’d like to skip, so we can plan our route.
- We’ll credit one visit’s price to your next bill.
- You get one skip per quarter. If you don’t use it, it doesn’t carry over.
- This is for planned skips only. Last-minute or missed visits follow the regular rules above.
Pausing or Cancelling Service
Want to pause or stop service? Just let us know at least 48 hours before the next month starts. If you decide partway through the month, we’ll finish out the visits you’ve already paid for and stop at the end of that month.
Either of us can end service with written notice. You’ll keep getting service through the month you’ve already paid for. We don’t give partial-month refunds, and any unpaid balance is due within 15 days.
If a Balance Goes Unpaid
If a balance remains unpaid, we may pause your service until your account is brought current. We’ll always reach out first — and once payment is received, your service resumes as normal.
- Rate Changes
From time to time, we may adjust our pricing to reflect rising operating costs and the level of service we work hard to maintain. If your rate changes, we’ll give you at least 21 days’ notice before it takes effect, and the new rate will begin on your next billing cycle.
- Satisfaction Guarantee
Your satisfaction matters to us. If you’re ever unhappy with a cleanup, let us know within 24 hours of your service and we’ll return to make it right at no additional charge. We stand behind every visit.
- Liability
We take every precaution during each visit, including securing gates, and closing and securing any garages, kennels, or enclosed areas we’ve been given permission to access, before we leave. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage to yards, gates, pets, or property, and we are not liable for damage except where it results directly from our negligence.
